Bios
Fred Schmidt was appointed president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Commercial Affiliates LLC in February 2010. Schmidt is a veteran commercial real estate professional with more than 30 years of experience in the industry, and held posts with Realogy Corporation and Coldwell Banker Commercial for seven years prior to this promotion. In his current role, Schmidt leads this growing franchise system that has approximately 200 offices and 2,300 commercial real estate professionals operating in 20 countries worldwide, including recent key additions in the New York City and Atlanta markets. In addition, Schmidt also serves as president of ONCOR International LLC, a global commercial real estate referral network comprised of more than 50 independently owned brokerage firms.
Schmidt served as senior vice president of the Realogy Global Client Solutions group from 2008 to 2010. In this role, he led the proactive development of client relationships and sourcing of business development opportunities on behalf of Realogys commercial real estate entities. Additionally, he was responsible for overseeing the specialty groups including corporate services, hospitality, multi-family, property management, retail, and Real Estate Owned (REO).
Schmidt joined Coldwell Banker Commercial in 2003 as vice president of business development, and two years later was promoted to senior vice president of business development and operations. Prior to Coldwell Banker Commercial, he was first vice president of corporate services for CB Richard Ellis and was responsible for providing a broad base of advisory services to public and private sector clients requiring multi-market, multi-project real estate services. Schmidts 21-year tenure with CBRE included both sales and management roles in the Central New Jersey and Hartford, Conn., markets. He later served as managing director for United Systems Integrators Corporation, where he was responsible for the companys corporate real estate services and new business development in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and the Ohio Valley.
Schmidt, who earned his bachelors degree from Seton Hall University, is a member of CoreNet Global, the leading professional association for the corporate real estate industry. He also is active in his community, and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Summit (N.J.) YMCA.
Vik Bangia is responsible for leading the Global Client Solutions team. He has nearly 20 years in commercial real estate including senior management positions at Cresa Partners, United Properties/Northmarq and CB Richard Ellis, along with managing corporate real estate for Fortune 500 oil giant Unocal (now part of Chevron Corporation).
During Viks career, he has been involved in all aspects of corporate real estate, including major corporate downsizings, headquarters relocations, land acquisitions and dispositions, environmental remediation, corporate restructurings and turnarounds, lease negotiations of all sizes, M&A support, financial analysis, real estate administration and strategic planning.
He is a regular speaker at corporate real estate industry events, a writer of real estate columns and white papers for various industry publications and has a Master of Corporate Real Estate (MCR) from CoreNet Global where he is a top-rated faculty member of CoreNet Globals Executive Development Programs.
Vik has an MBA from the Graziadio School of Business at Pepperdine University as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Oklahoma. He also holds the CoreNet Global, Master of Corporate Real Estate (MCR) professional designation.
Obie Walli is Vice President, Commercial Operations for NRT LLC. In this role, he oversees the Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT stand-alone commercial offices in Florida, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, and Baltimore.
Obie is responsible for the financial performance of each of these operations and works directly with the commercial directors who manage those offices. Additionally, Obie works closely with the CBC senior leadership team to align the interest and strategic goals of the NRT commercial offices with the CBC brand.
Prior to his current role, Obie was the Senior Director, Operations for Coldwell Banker Commercial, where he was responsible for the day-to-day internal operations, servicing and transitioning of affiliates throughout the companys national network.
Obies financial acumen has provided him the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership within the Realogy companys franchise group and he has held a variety positions within the Realogy throughout his career.
In 2001, he joined NRT, the real estate brokerage operations of Realogy, as a financial analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions department. During his tenure he was involved in more than 30 acquisitions, both residential and commercial.
In May 2005 he was named manager of finance and operations for Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT. He was responsible for the underwriting of potential acquisitions of commercial real estate companies and the implementation of numerous technology and marketing initiatives, all of which have been critical to the growth and development of Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT.
In addition, Obie helped underwrite the Realogy acquisition of ONCOR international.
Tim Dimond is Vice President of Ownership Services for Coldwell Banker Commercial. Tim oversees all owner-related services and is focused on developing a vertically integrated service platform, including property management, construction management, agency leasing, investment sales, and the capital markets business, for the company. Tim also serves as a national resource for each Coldwell Banker Commercial affiliate office.
Tim boasts over 20 years of commercial real estate professional experience. He most recently served as the director of real estate development and management for the State of Florida, helping to formulate ownership strategy and management of eight million square feet of state owned real estate and 10 million square feet of privately-owned properties. He also oversaw a variety of statewide construction services and held overall responsibility for the management of all facilities operations at the Florida Governors Mansion.
Previously, Tim has served as the director/senior vice president of institutional advisory services for The Merlot Group; director of the office of property management for the District of Columbia; general manager for Carramerica Realty Corporation in Washington, D.C.; and vice president and director of operations for Draper & Kramer in Hanover, Md.
Tim has a Bachelor of Science degree from Barry University in Miami. He has a Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and also served as IREMs Washington, D.C., Chapter president in 2000 and 2001. He has received a number of awards throughout his career, including the 2002 CPM Manager of the Year and has served on several industry boards and task forces.
Jason Silfies is Vice President, Marketing and Technology for Coldwell Banker Commercial and oversees all the marketing and technology initiatives for the brand.
Jason is primarily responsible for maintaining a strong brand image for the CBC company. He oversees the development and execution of all of the companys traditional marketing functions such as advertising, public relations, product development and communications.
In addition, he administers all activities related to the Coldwell Banker Commercial organizations technology functions. Most recently, he managed the development and execution of the companys groundbreaking electronic marketing initiatives which includes the award winning public website CBCWorldwide.com and internal corporate internet CBCBlueprint.
Jason has over 13 years marketing experience, including the past nine in the real estate industry. Prior to joining Coldwell Banker Commercial, he was responsible for overseeing the Century 21 Commercial and Century 21 Fine Homes & Estates brand awareness programs.
Jason holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
David Birnbaum, Senior Director of Learning directs all training initiatives for Coldwell Banker Commercial, including classroom training, eLearning courseware and strategic planning. David came from AT&T, where he spent 17 years in various management roles. In 1996, he began designing eCommerce web platforms combining web, fax and automated phone systems. In 1998 he joined AT&Ts training department managing their global learning management system & helpdesk and directing a team that developed web site portals and hundreds of online courses. David has also consulted on user experience, web metrics and search engine optimization for online magazines. He has a BS (Magna Cum Laude) from City University of New York and an MS from New York University
